April 9, 2025 – November 19, 2025

The program consists of 6 seminars, 3 hours each for a total of 18 hours

For any psychotherapy approach, supervision is a fundamental process, a learning environment and a necessary support for clinical practice. It is a means to better understand clinical cases, to reflect on the therapeutic situation and relationship, to orient oneself in the therapeutic process. In addition, it increases awareness about the fields created by therapist and client and by supervisor and supervisee, and provides support from belonging to the professional community in order to be able to offer the best possible practice for clients.

Although there are various Gestalt therapy studies about supervision, this topic needs further development to apply the humanistic concept of therapist/client relationship, and provide practical guidelines for supervisors to pursue the aim of Gestalt therapy supervision.

The 2025 Gestalt Therapy in Action Series will explore on an epistemological positioning of Gestalt therapy supervision, basing on four relevant well known Gestalt therapists, international trainers and writers, Ruella Frank, Lynne Jacobs, Margherita Spagnuolo Lobb, Miriam Taylor. All presenters will offer their specific relational perspective on Gestalt therapy supervision and will provide practical cues for Gestalt therapy Supervisors.

Each seminar will be chaired by Stefania Benini.

The Series will provide a theoretical and experiential introduction and, at the same time, an in-depth exploration of this clinical practice, definitely not a training to become supervisor. It will include theoretical presentations, supervisions, and experiential work in small groups. Participants, from all over the world, will enjoy an international context.
